Description:

In the Alicia Darkstone: The Mysterious Abduction Deluxe iPhone app you will be able to move through 12 different levels and watch an incredible story unfold.   The story starts out with Alicia arriving at the house of a friend and finding the room completely destroyed.  Matthew, her friend, is gone.  Her head starts spinning around and she slowly starts to put together all of the clues that are around.

You will have to help Alicia with her investigation so that she can find her friend and get some answers!

Features:

• The graphics in this game are absolutely stunning. The best part about them is that they have been created by hand and you can see the hand drawn designs throughout the entire game and you will be incredibly impressed
• The music in the game is also pretty awesome.  It is all very ambient and you will find that it fits the theme of the game almost perfectly.  You will feel like you are experiencing the game rather than just playing it
• One of the other pros to this game is that it actually has a pretty engaging storyline.  This is so important because there are so many other games out there that may go overboard on graphics but don’t have any type of story to go along with it
• As you progress through the game and the individual levels, you will find that there are a ton of different items that you can find to help you on your quest.  There are literally hundreds of items to collect along the way
• Another bonus is that in each of the different levels you will be able to find special items that pertain just to that level.   You will have to be on the lookout for them so you overcome all the challenges and complete the stage
• There are a grand total of 12 different levels in this game.  This includes some fun places like the lab of an alchemist, a forest, and also some scary catacombs that you will have to roam around in order to find what you are looking for

Conclusion:

Overall, this game has a great story line, amazing hand drawn graphics, and a soundtrack to keep you thinking about all day.  Not a bad app for only a dollar.  If you are looking for something new then this might be a good way to go to get a little variety in the kinds of apps you are downloading off of the market.

Tangram Puzzle Pro iPhone app Review

Description:

This app can help you to relax your mind as well as expand it into something more.  In the Tangrams iPhone app you will be able to try your hand at over 540 different puzzles.  You will be able to complete them in any order that you like and you can take a break whenever you need to.  You will be able to slide the shapes and spin them around to create the shapes that are provided.

Features:

• This is a fun little app where you will have to really stretch yourself to be able to accomplish all of the puzzles that are presented.  You will have over 540 different puzzles that you will have to try and complete and they are all very challenging
• The controls on the game are also pretty intuitive.  You will find that it is a one-finger touch control system and that it is very easy to navigate through screens and select answers to the puzzles that are presented
• The other nice thing about this game is that it is a good way for you to engage your mind and stay on top of your game mentally.  It will challenge your thought processes but also help you to better relax once you have complete them
• You can either listen to the music that has been provided or you can just turn on your own iTunes library.  This is great because you have a choice of what you listen to while you try to complete all of the puzzles that have been presented
• This gaming app is also connected to Facebook so you can show off how far you have gotten to all of your friends and family.  This way you can brag about how smart you are challenge other people to try and beat you
• If you want to throw your tans into the area where all of the puzzles are then you simply just need to flip and snap your wrist.  This is one way that they engage the accelerometer in the game
• This game is also very simple to just pick up and play.  That means that no matter what your skill level is you will be able to figure it out and enjoy it

Conclusion:

This is a cool little origami app for the iPhone and you will love trying to figure out the challenging puzzles that are thrown your way.

Squareball iPhone app Review

Description:

In the Squareball iPhone app you will be able to play in an action arcade game and play it using the intuitively designed controls.   The main point of the game is for you to try and collect all of the green blocks that are located around the stages. As you collect them and the other colored blocks you can increase your score.

Features:

• This really is the first action arcade game to come out on the iPhone that has been any good.  You will see that it has some true arcade action and it is all at 6ofps
• The controls in this app are also really great because they are so intuitive.  You will see that they have been intuitively designed and work just perfectly for this type of game
• The gameplay in this game is nothing to get all excited about but it is very simple which makes it easy for anyone to just pick it up and play.  Also, because of how easy it is you will find that it is very addictive
• The graphics in this game will really bring you back to the old days when you used to go visit the arcade.  They are completely retro.  This theme carries over into both the sound effects as well as the musical soundtrack for the game
• This app also has quite the variety of different levels and stages for you to play on.  There are over 20 different stages that you can play that are located in 5 different worlds.  And this is just the first adventure, there will be many more to come in the future
• On top of there being so many new worlds and stages for you to try and conquer you will love the fact that each of the worlds are very unique.  There will be original and exciting challenges that you will have to face in each of the 5 locations as you try to progress through the rest of the game

Conclusion:

You can never go wrong with a little action arcade game in  your app library.  That is exactly what Squareball offers and it seems to deliver pretty well.  The only gripes about the app are that although it is definitely retro themed, the graphics are really plain.  They could have done a little bit more to spice it up and give it a little more modern makeover so that it would appeal to more gamers in this day and age.

PBA Bowling 2 iPhone app Review

Description:

In the PBA Bowling 2 iPhone app you will be able to play as the best recognized players in the league in some of the most well known locations on the tour.  You can play against the computer or you can just play against your friends.  There are online leaderboards and some customization options as well.

Features:

• Probably the single coolest thing about this app is that there are online leader boards that you can check out to see who the best virtual bowlers are in the world
• You will also be able to track all of the different stats and scoring that goes on in the tournaments.  This is great because you can see who the best bowlers are in the virtual league
• One of the other fun perks in the game is that you can actually customize the bowling ball so that it has your desired weight, the kinds of textures that you want on it as well as the graphics and special effects
• In this game you have the option of using either the accelerometer or you can use the touch screen controls to send the ball careening down the lane towards the pins
• There are also a few different game modes that you can try out.  There is the single player mode as well as a tournament mode to play in.  Last of all there is the spare challenge mode
• There are a bunch of different locations that are featured on the Lumber Liquidator PBA Tour.  These include places like Reno, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Tokyo, and even Detroit
• There are a bunch of different lane types that can be picked from.  You can play on the shark, chameleon, cheetah, viper, and also the scorpion lanes
• As you play in the game you can actually unlock a bunch of different special effects.  You can also unlock different patterns and bowling ball textures as well
• If you want you can look and see what kinds of oil patterns are on the lane so you better know how to approach the lane
• There are also a couple different difficulty levels you can pick from including the easy, medium and hard difficulties
• The graphics in this game are actually pretty amazing and on the cutting edge of technology.  The menus are also very dynamic
• The bowling alley is completely in 3D and you will be able to see how many pins were knocked down as well as the frame number that you are on
• You can also slide in and out of the scoreboard so that it is there when you need it but doesn’t get in the way when you don’t need to look at it

Conclusion:

This app will appeal to bowling lovers because it has been given a rating of 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.  You can also download this onto your iPhone for only $0.99.

iBasketball iPhone app Review

Description:

In the iBasketball iPhone app you will be able to get out on the street courts and polish up your game.  See if you can get a perfect swish, and see if you can go up against other online players and beat them out in a game of horse.  This is a fun game that you can play in real time and use real shooting motions to get the ball into the net.

Features:

• As with all of these games from this same developer, you are going to get a good mix of action using the built in accelerometer.  This is a great way to get the most out of your games and make them interesting
• All you have to do is just swing your little iPhone around and watch the basketball fly through the air
• The shooting physics in the game are very realistic and very accurate.  You will be able to see how the half court shot works and even control the distance of your shot.  As well as controlling the distance you will also be able to mess with the angle of the shot and how you want to use the backboard in case it is a really difficult shot to hit
• The environment you will be in will be based around a street court.  It helps you to feel like you are a real baller and you are out with your boys playing some ball
• There are also a variety of different multiplayer options that you can take advantage of in order to make your gaming experience a bit more enjoyable.  You can get online and have some timed shootouts where you will have to be super quick as well as extremely accurate
• You can also play in an online game of Horse with other opponents where you will have to come up with some difficult and creative shots that will oust the people you are playing against
• There are also leader boards at the national level that you can get online and check and see where your own high scores are and how they match against the other best players in the world
• There is a localized game play option where you can actually play against people who are all over the world in a bunch of different regions.  This allows for some great replay value

Conclusion:

This is a fun accelerometer based basketball game for the iPhone.  Although the graphics aren’t the sharpest, it is in 3D and it does respond pretty well.  Overall a pretty fun little game to keep you busy.
