• One of the most appealing parts of this app is that it has some LIVE streaming video on it.  This can be used either with the 3G network or over WiFi.  This way you can watch all of the stages of the tour without any interruption from commercials
• You will also be able to have all of the replays of each individual stage saved On Demand so that you can watch certain parts again and again. Or you can just go back and watch stages that you missed
• After each stage has been completed you will be able to find some highlight videos on the app for all of those stages.  That way you can get the highlights without having to watch the entire thing over again
• One of the really cool features with the app is that you can also see the LIVE GPS tracking of all of the different riders and how big their breakaway time gaps are.   You can get locations of where they all are
• There is also a cool Twitter feature where you can get the race statuses LIVE and also updates that help you to follow the race even if you aren’t in a spot where you can watch the actual race
• There are also some push alerts that you can customize in order to get race alerts.  This includes the 25K to go to the Finish as well as the results from the actual finish of the race
• You can also get all of the results and even the standings for the day after each stage.  This way you will always know what is going on and never feel like you are left out of the loop
• You can access different photos and videos from the race as well to make sure you get as much race media as you would like
• There is also a section that will give you the profiles on each and every rider that is competing in the Tour de France
• Last of all, you will get profiles of each of the stages and how steep and difficult the categorized climbs will be as the riders approach them

Description:

In the Star Trek Original Series Communicator iPhone app you will be able to play with the same device that is featured in the Star Trek television series.  The whole point of this app is to be able to replicate the devices that were used by Star Trek characters for personal communication.  You will be able to hear the voices of Scotty, Dr. McCoy, Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura and much more.  There are also a variety of sound effects and also animations as well as lights and motion effects.

• If you love Star Trek, then you will probably get a kick out of this little app.  This is the replica of the original series communicator.  You will be able to access all of the voice and sound effects that were available on the Original Series of Star Trek.  If you are a trekkie then this thing is a must
• There is also a function as part of the app where you can do paging of other people on the ship.  This allows you to do some role playing that can be very fun and interactive.  It is a great way to feel like you are in on all of the action
• There is also a dialer page as part of the communicator that allows you to get into your personal contacts from the app.  This way if you have other friends that are interested in Star Trek you can communicate with them through the actual Star Trek device
• One of the other fun features of this communicator is that you can also flip out the animated antenna grid that comes with the app.  You can do this by either flicking your wrist or swiping your finger across the screen
• This app has all of the features and textures of the actual communicator used by Starfleet.  You will love how authentic it is and how it mirrors the exact device that is on the popular television show

With this app you can feel like you really are a part of Starfleet!  This is the dream of many trekkies and now it can be realized by just downloading this simple app and using it with your friends and fellow fans.  Star Trek was one of the most popular t.v. shows in history and it continues to show many people still follow the series and worship the episodes.

This app has been given a rating of 3 1/2 stars which is nothing to get too excited about.  It is relatively inexpensive to download, however, only costing $1.99 to get on your mobile device.

Alicia Darkstone: The Mysterious Abduction Deluxe iPhone app Review

Description:

In the Alicia Darkstone: The Mysterious Abduction Deluxe iPhone app you will be able to move through 12 different levels and watch an incredible story unfold.   The story starts out with Alicia arriving at the house of a friend and finding the room completely destroyed.  Matthew, her friend, is gone.  Her head starts spinning around and she slowly starts to put together all of the clues that are around.

You will have to help Alicia with her investigation so that she can find her friend and get some answers!

Features:

• The graphics in this game are absolutely stunning. The best part about them is that they have been created by hand and you can see the hand drawn designs throughout the entire game and you will be incredibly impressed
• The music in the game is also pretty awesome.  It is all very ambient and you will find that it fits the theme of the game almost perfectly.  You will feel like you are experiencing the game rather than just playing it
• One of the other pros to this game is that it actually has a pretty engaging storyline.  This is so important because there are so many other games out there that may go overboard on graphics but don’t have any type of story to go along with it
• As you progress through the game and the individual levels, you will find that there are a ton of different items that you can find to help you on your quest.  There are literally hundreds of items to collect along the way
• Another bonus is that in each of the different levels you will be able to find special items that pertain just to that level.   You will have to be on the lookout for them so you overcome all the challenges and complete the stage
• There are a grand total of 12 different levels in this game.  This includes some fun places like the lab of an alchemist, a forest, and also some scary catacombs that you will have to roam around in order to find what you are looking for

Conclusion:

Overall, this game has a great story line, amazing hand drawn graphics, and a soundtrack to keep you thinking about all day.  Not a bad app for only a dollar.  If you are looking for something new then this might be a good way to go to get a little variety in the kinds of apps you are downloading off of the market.

Description:

This app can help you to relax your mind as well as expand it into something more.  In the Tangrams iPhone app you will be able to try your hand at over 540 different puzzles.  You will be able to complete them in any order that you like and you can take a break whenever you need to.  You will be able to slide the shapes and spin them around to create the shapes that are provided.

Features:

• This is a fun little app where you will have to really stretch yourself to be able to accomplish all of the puzzles that are presented.  You will have over 540 different puzzles that you will have to try and complete and they are all very challenging
• The controls on the game are also pretty intuitive.  You will find that it is a one-finger touch control system and that it is very easy to navigate through screens and select answers to the puzzles that are presented
• The other nice thing about this game is that it is a good way for you to engage your mind and stay on top of your game mentally.  It will challenge your thought processes but also help you to better relax once you have complete them
• You can either listen to the music that has been provided or you can just turn on your own iTunes library.  This is great because you have a choice of what you listen to while you try to complete all of the puzzles that have been presented
• This gaming app is also connected to Facebook so you can show off how far you have gotten to all of your friends and family.  This way you can brag about how smart you are challenge other people to try and beat you
• If you want to throw your tans into the area where all of the puzzles are then you simply just need to flip and snap your wrist.  This is one way that they engage the accelerometer in the game
• This game is also very simple to just pick up and play.  That means that no matter what your skill level is you will be able to figure it out and enjoy it

This is a cool little origami app for the iPhone and you will love trying to figure out the challenging puzzles that are thrown your way.

UpDown Fever – Winny iPhone app Review

Description:

The UpDown Fever – Winny iPhone app is already extremely famous in Japan and Korea and has now made it to the app market through the iPhone.  This game can be the perfect time waster for you if you need something to do for a few minutes in between activities in your life.  The great part about the game is that it is very easy for you to just pick up and play so you don’t have to worry about a large learning curve.

Features:

• The way that this game is played is that you will have a couple levers that are located at the very bottom of the screen.  You have the choice to either hold up a single flag, or both of the flags that are held by the main character, Windy
• As the game begins you will be given some instructions that say the color of the flag and what direction it should go.  For instance “Blue up!”.  You will have to just listen to the instructions and follow them quickly enough that you can pass the round and keep moving on in the game
• The way that you beat each level is that you will need at least 7 consecutive moves that were successful.  As you pass the stage that you are in, you will move to a higher level and be able to get harder challenges
• The levels get significantly harder as you move on.  The response time that is required by you will quickly decrease in the harder levels and you will have to be much quicker in order for you to complete it and keep moving on
• Some of the voice commands are meant to trick you so you will have to be careful not to fall for it.  For instance the voice might say something like “White Up, No!”  Which will be a hard one to follow if you press the lever too quick.  You will need to make sure that you listen to the entire command before you just start pressing the buttons
• The Winny character originally came from an online service that helps kids in South Korea learn English.  It became popular and has escalated into a mobile app for the iPhone

Conclusion:

You gotta be quick in this game to be able to listen to all of the different commands and make sure that you are doing the things that are asked of you.  If you get caught off guard you won’t be able to pass the stages.
