Description:

In the Tetris BlackBerry app you will have the opportunity to have the old classic right at your fingertips!  Use the different shapes to eliminate lines and move up in levels and points.  Watch out though, as the speed gets much quicker and the difficulty will continue to increase!

Features:

• Tetris is one of the most popular strategy / puzzle games that has ever been created on any type of gaming system.  It is incredibly addicting and gets very hard as you start to reach the higher levels.
• There are over 60 million people currently playing the Tetris game on mobile phones throughout the world.  With so many people enjoying this game, you know that you can’t go wrong with it
• There are a few different game modes that you can try your hand at including the classic mode, the Ultra mode and the Forty Line mode and Marathon Mode
• In the Ultra mode you will have to see what you can accomplish with only a two minute clock to work with.  You will have to work quickly and furiously to bank up the highest score
• In the Forty Line mode you will have to see how fast that you can clear a total of forty lines.  The faster the time, the more the points
• The Marathon mode allow you to go at your own pace and eliminate lines and move up levels.  Be aware that as you move up levels the game gets much quicker and harder to beat
• The controls are very easy to use and you will find that the shadow feature is incredibly nice so that you don’t have to worry about dropping it in the wrong spot when you are racing against the clock
• You will see a variety of different shapes that you will have to use to fill in the spaces and eliminate lines so that you do not get eliminated yourself
• If you can eliminate four lines at once it is called a Tetris and you will get a lot of points for it.  Try your hand at creating Tetrises and getting the most points that you can

Conclusion:

You honestly can’t go wrong with Tetris.  Having stood the test of time and still remained so popular, you know it has to be one of the best puzzle games on the market today.

Exgis Time and Expense Pro BlackBerry app Review

Description:

The Exgis Time and Expense Pro BlackBerry app is a great way for you to keep tabs on all of your business processes.  It is the perfect tool for the business man or woman that wants to be really productive.  The app comes with the Exgis Time Tracker, the Exgis Mileage Tracker, and also the Exgis Expense Tracker.  You can keep tabs on all of your entries for all three of those areas so that you can match them against projects, potential clients, travelers from foreign countries, and currencies.  If you would like to, you can also export all of this information onto spreadsheets.

Features:

• The Exgis Time and Expense Pro will allow you to track all of your start and end times so that you have a good record of all of the work you have done and how long you have done it for
• When you are recording time you can record up to two decimal places on all of it so that you have very accurate time readings and are able to see just how long you are taking to complete tasks
• The rates can all be effectively attuned to different dates so that you can attribute them to different expense items and track them all in units for better record keeping
• The app will automatically calculate all of your mileage and it will you do it according to your approximate start and end readings on your mileage
• This app will also allow you to backup all of your information over the Desktop manager that is provided by Blackberry.  This is great because it is easy to restore all of your data and information

Conclusion:

The Blackberry has been known as a phone for serious business men and women that want to make sure that they are being efficient in all that they do.  This app is a good example of that.  It is meant to help you keep track of the time that you are expending working so that you have an accurate assessment of just how much your time is worth to you.  If you are looking to improve your efficiency then this is a good way for you to keep track of it and improve on it.  This app is kind of expensive but if it helps you cut down on costs in the long run then it just might be worth the extra couple bucks you will pay to have it.

Pixelated Blackberry app Review

Description:

The Pixelated Blackberry app is a challenging puzzle game that takes colors and strategy and mixes them together to create this one of a kind virtual challenge.  You will start off each puzzle with a screen full of different colored “pixels”, and it is up to you to mix and match them until all of the squares are one solid color.  The way that you manipulate these colors is that you have six different color buttons at the bottom of your screen.  By pressing each of these colors it will assimilate the blocks that are touching those colored blocks.  You slowly change these squares to the colors of those around it until you complete the stage with one solid color.

The point of the game is to create this solid color as quickly as you can, all while using the least amount of moves.  The Pixelated Blackberry app has a timer and you can work to beat your fastest times and your high scores.  On the default settings you only have twenty moves or less to use in order to complete the challenge and move onto the next puzzle.  You can customize these options in the settings tab to make it either harder or easier.

Features:

• You have 2o moves to change the entire board into one solid color before you lose the game
• The game has a timer so that you can try and beat you best scores and fastest times
• There are six colored buttons at the bottom of the screen that you can use to change all of the pixel blocks to the same color
• Every time you pick a new color, it assimilates those colored squares into the squares around it
• Pick your moves wisely or you will run out and lose the game!

Conclusion:

This is a very simple puzzle app, but a fun one nonetheless.  It is easy to pick up and understand but can be very challenging depending on the amount of moves that you allow yourself to take.  Some levels are near impossible unless you have more than twenty moves to complete them in.  All in all, this is a great time waster on the Blackberry and is sure to help you waste a few minutes here and there when you are bored.  The app doesn’t cost anything and is fun to try out if nothing else.

Description:

• You can get boxscores of any team and see the shots on goal and also a summary of all the scoring
• You will get updated news on schedules and up coming games that are going on in the National Hockey League
• Follow player news, movements, trades, and injuries
• You also can see the stats for each individual player including the goalies
• You can set the Blackberry app to notify you every time new content has been picked up by the phone
• Content is immediately downloaded and stored on your smartphone as soon as it is ready to do be downloaded
• You can send any information or pictures to your contacts on your phone
• The browser is exceptionally fast and you don’t have to worry about loading times

Conclusion:

If you love hockey, then this is one of those Blackberry apps you just shouldn’t go without.  First of all the app is free and it is loaded with content and information.  You will always be aware of the happenings around the league and what shape the teams and the players are in.  You can get live, up-to-date scores on any games that are currently happening and get notifications of upcoming games.  It is the perfect hockey companion for any puck lover out there.

Doodle Jump Blackberry app Review

Description:

The Doodle Jump Blackberry app takes you up to the top of a sheet of graph paper to try and attain the highest score available.  You take the spot of the Doodler as he climbs up a variety of different platforms.  The graph paper never ends so you can continue to climb for as long as you can keep hitting platforms.  You will have to use different items, however, in order to keep on climbing towards the top.  Look for propeller hats, springs, and even spare jet packs laying around to help you get a boost here and there and reach the next platform.  Sound hard?  Well throw into the mix some deadly obstacles and enemies that are trying to knock you off your path and you have quite a challenging game!  You will have to avoid platforms that are breaking, fearsome black holes, alien UFO’s and other kinds of bad guys.  You can use your own ammunition to take these enemies out.  Try shooting nose balls to destroy the bad guys and clear the path.

This simple climbing game is one of the most addicting Blackberry apps out there.  As you climb up the graph paper you can see other people’s scores that you are passing.  You can check the online leaderboards and see what other top players are scoring and work to try and knock them off of their pedestals.  Use all of the tools you have and add some concentration in order to become the Doodle Jumping Champion!

Features:

• Take the form of the Doodler and climb up never ending platforms in order to get the high score
• There are jet packs, propeller hats, and other items to help boost you up the platforms
• Beware of crumbling platforms, enemies, black holes, and UFO’s as you make your way up
• You can shoot nose balls to take out enemies
• You can see local high scores along the side of the screen as you move up so you can gauge your progress
• There are also online leaderboards that you can check so you can see how you are doing Globally

Conclusion:

The original iPhone version of this app was very fun but it didn’t quite make the full transition to the Blackberry.  The graphics are still cartoony and fun, but the controls are just terrible.  If you have ever played the iPhone version then you won’t be able to play this versino for very long without getting frustrated and angry that the controls weren’t customized better for the Blackberry.  Overall, a fun game but probably not worth the seven bucks it costs to download at the Blackberry apps store.
